Inverter

To help Sherine be more effective sailing during our cruise and enabling her to get me to the top of the mast, should the need arise, I decided to install three electric winches. Well, as I started to plan the auxiliary electrical panel, I decided I needed to figure out where I was going to install the inverter first so that I could plan the routing of the battery cables.

Installing the inverter and winches, requires a large number of custom battery cables.

I purchased the following hydraulic crimper to facilitate this. While cheap, I found the quality to be decent thus far.

Here’s the wire loom I purchased for routing the 3-conductor cable.

I purchased 50ft of 12/3 tinned cable for routing into and out of the Inverter. For the input of the Inverter, I routed a new cable back to the the main breaker located in the starboard cockpit storage locker.
